Schedulling Use Crontab

Penjadwalan (Schedulling) bagi seorang admin sangatlah berguna, misalkan kita ingin membackup file, mencatat log user yg aktif setiap menit,
atau pada jam - jam tertentu seperti jam 14.30, hal itu bisa dilakukan secara otomatis tanpa harus berada didepan komputer pada jam tersebut.
Berikut ini akan dicontohkan utk mencatat log siapa saja yg aktif setiap menitnya dan hasilnya disimpan ke file cekloguser.txt. Just follow these command...:)



1. crontab -e : untuk mengatur penjadwalan dg menggunakan editor
2. ketikkan script berikut di editor
* * * * * who >> cekloguser.txt
3. kalau format nya spt diatas : perintahnya akan dieksekusi setiap menit dan disimpan di file cekloguser.txt
4. save file crontab tadi (esc, ketikkan :wq)
5. utk ngecek file crontabnya ketikkan aja : crontab -l
6. udah deh selesai..
7. utk ngeliat hsl nya, tunggu aja beberapa saat, ketikkan : cat cekloguser.txt

Jika ingin menjalankan perintah diatas pada jam 14.30, maka formatnya:

30 14 * * * who >> cekloguser.txt

Setting Compiz

Compiz adalah package yang disediakan oleh Linux untuk untuk memberikan efek-efek khusus untuk desktop. Disarankan PC atau Notebook Anda memiliki VGA yang memadai untuk menghasilkan efek grafis maksimal. Berikut langkah-langkah setting compiz.

1.Install package compiz dari Synaptic Package Manager
2.Klik Applications, System Tools, Compiz Fusion Icon
3.Pada toolbar kanan atas akan muncul Icon Compiz
4.Klik kanan icon, pilih Settings Manager
5.Pada Compiz terdapat beberapa Category, misalkan kita pilih Category Effects



6.Klik Animations
7.Terdapat beberapa menu pilihan, diantaranya:
a.Close Animation, memberikan efek pada saat window diclose,misal klik New, pada Close effect pilih Airplane, Duration misalkan 200, pada Window match ketikkan baris berikut: (type=Normal | Dialog | ModalDialog | Unknown), pada option dikosongkan saja, close



b.Minimize Animation, memberikan efek pada saat window diminimize, misal klik New, pada Minimize effect pilih Explode, Duration misalkan 424, pada Window match ketikkan baris berikut: (type=Normal | Dialog | ModalDialog | Unknown), pada option dikosongkan saja, close




c.Open Animation, memberikan efek pada saat window baru dibuka,misal klik New, pada Open effect pilih Magic Lamp, Duration misalkan 200, pada Window match ketikkan baris berikut: (type=Normal | Dialog | ModalDialog | Unknown), pada option dikosongkan saja, close



8.Silahkan lakukan percobaan untuk Effect yang lainnya

All about DCR 2009

Darmasiswa Chevron Riau adalah salah satu program dari Community Development PT. CPI dengan memberikan beasiswa kepada 55 org siswa/siswi berprestasi se Prov. Riau. Program ini pertama kali dilaksanakan pada tahun 2001: DCR 2001 sampe saat ini masih berlanjut di DCR 2009, aq sendiri adalah DCR angkatan 2003, dan Alhamdulillah saat itu berhasil meraih juara 1. Saat ini aq terlibat dalam kepanitian seleksi DCR 2009. Hari pertama tanggal 23 Maret 2009, adik2 DCR dari 11 kabupaten se prov. riau berkumpul di PCR (Politeknik Caltex Riau) tempat aq bekerja skrg. Saat itu diadakan sosialisasi mengenai PCR dan kunjungan lab PCR. Hari kedua, tgl 24 Maret, peserta mengikuti tes potensi akademik dan psikotes di RCC (Rumbai Country Club) PT. CPI dan langsung diumumkan ranking 10 besar untuk mengikuti tes berikutnya yaitu wawancara untuk menentukan juara 1,2, dan 3. Dan akhirnya, pada hari ketiga, 25 Maret 2009, diumumkanlah juara 1, 2 dan 3. Saat itu, ketika melihat adik2 yg masuk 10 besar, aq teringat peristiwa 6 thn lalu, dimana aq merasa sangat tegang, seneng, semua bercampur menjadi satu. Akhirnya diumumkanlah pemenangnya, dan yang menjadi juara 1 nya adalah peserta dari Bengkalis, Dumai dan Rohil. Waw...Sangat bangga rasanya bisa melihat mereka berdiri diatas panggung itu, selamat buat adik2 DCR 2009, jadilah putra dan putri Riau yang membanggakan, kalian semua adalah pemenangnya...you are the winner...sampai ketemu di DCR 2010...Mudah-mudahan. Amin...:)

Google Earth on Linux

Install Google Earth on Linux:

1. copy your GoogleEarthLinux.bin package to your home directory

2. change file permission:

$chmod a+x GoogleEarthLinux.bin

3. execute the file:

$./GoogleEarthLinux.bin

4. Happy journey around the world...:)

BOOT IMAGE

How to change your boot image...

1. install grub-splashimages

2. edit menu.lst file, command:

>sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

3. add this command into the file:

splashimage=/boot/grub/splashimages/menu-sta.xmp.gz

4. restart your pc or notebook to take effect

note:
- menu-sta.xmp.gz is name of file image, you can change with other file image that
you have been installed, just check at : /boot/grub/splashimages
- you can change the list on your boot too in /boot/grub/menu.lst

How to Use C Programming on Ubuntu 8.04

1. check your gcc version: gcc --version
if the gcc is not installed yet, pliz install build-essential and gcc package

2. make .c file with editor text, you can use gedit or vim, for example
>vim test.c

printf("welcome to c programming, enjoy it...:-) ");
return 0;
}

3. make gcc file to compile the program:
>vim maketest

test: test.c
gcc -o test test.c

4. do this command:
>make test
>./test
